The Classy Niners is a welcoming and social women's 9-hole golf group that meets weekly to enjoy the game and each others company. We embrace golfers of all skill levels. The Classy Niners League offers the perfect blend of golf, friendship and fun.
Invitationals
Playing Beyond our Home Course
Invitationals provide an opportunity for Classy Niners 9-hole members to play at other golf clubs alongside 9-hole members from neighboring clubs.
Notices are posted on the 9-Hole bulletin board in the Ladies Locker Room at the Clubhouse.
Sign-ups are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

2025/2026 Winners Recap
Rounds Played: We had 73 ladies play more than 10 rounds and we had 126 ladies play at least the 6 required rounds! Considering those on Hold Status that's pretty awesome!
Winners: We had a total of 111 winners so that's 80% of the membership that won something!
82 ladies won $50 or more!
We paid over $12K in ProShop credit this season.

Scores Posted: 117 ladies posted more than 20 scores this season and another 13 posted above the 15 requirement so 130 out of 140 - even some of those on Hold - met the requirement! Way to to go Ladies!
Chip In/Birdies: We had 64 winners with 43 Chip Ins and 21 Birdies!
Top Winners:
Stacy Smith was the big winner this season with 3 chips ins and 1 birdie! Amazing! And close behind were Gail Clark (3 birdies), Sue Spahn (2 birdies/1 chip in), Sue Price (3 chip in) and Lynne Sergi (1 Birdie/3 chip in) Congrats to all the pool winners!
Membership Requirements
All women who are full golf members in good standing of The Classics Country Club are eligible for membership in the Classy Niners, provided they have a verifiable USGA GHIN Handicap Index of 43.0 or less.
A valid handicap must be established prior to being placed on the waitlist. Total membership is limited to 140 players.
Members are required to participate in a minimum of six (6) Classy Niners events each season and must post at least fifteen (15) 9-hole rounds in GHIN within a 12-month period (April through March).
Golf is played on Wednesdays at 2:30 PM.
If you are new to golf, we encourage you to become familiar with USGA Rules & Regulations and proper golf course etiquette to enhance your experience with fellow members.
Our Pro Shop offers lessons by appointment and hosts clinics throughout the season to help you develop your game.
The Classy Niners was established in 2007 at the Classics Country Club in Lely Resort, Naples, Florida.

Most Improved Player of the Year
Congratulations to Janet Barillari on an outstanding 2025–2026 season with the Classy Niners! Her impressive improvement from a 40.2 to a 35.1 Handicap Index reflects her dedication, perseverance, and commitment to improving her game.
Through hard work, practice, and determination, Janet has achieved a significant milestone that deserves recognition and celebration. Her accomplishments this season are truly inspiring, and we are proud to congratulate her on this well-earned achievement.
We look forward to seeing Janet continue to grow and succeed on the course in the seasons ahead.

2026 /2027 Season
Lynne Sergi has graciously volunteered to manage the Chip In/Birdie pool again for the 2026/2027 season. Please please send an email to Lynne Sergi lfsergi@comcast.net
after play on Wednesday with any chip in or birdies.You must email Lynne - it must be in writing and it must be within the week the chip in/birdie was earned.
Lynne will respond to each email confirming receipt of your entry. If you do not receive an email from Lynne please follow-up in person or via her mobile to ensure your Chip In/Birdie is recorded. We will not make any exceptions this year if Lynne doesn't have your entry recorded.
Remember these are only chip ins or birdies that happen during our weekly play on Wednesday. Chip In and Birdies do not count during Scramble events.
