Classy Niners League is a fun and social women’s golf group that brings golfers together for friendly play, fellowship, and special events throughout the season.
All women who are full golf members in good standing at The Classics Country Club are eligible for membership in the Classy Niners, provided they have a verifiable USGA GHIN Handicap Index of 43.0 or lower. A valid handicap must be established prior to being placed on the waitlist. Membership is limited to 140 players.
No. Golfers of all skill levels are welcome to participate in and enjoy the game in a friendly and supportive environment.
If your plans change and you are unable to play, please notify the Pro Shop directly at (239) 732-1220 at least 72 hours in advance. This allows the staff to update pairings and tee times. Please do not contact the Classy Niners President to cancel your reservation, as all cancellations should be handled through the Pro Shop.
The Classy Niners generally schedule weekly golf outings and events on Wednesdays with a 2:30 PM shotgun start. Members are asked to arrive at the cart staging area by 2:15 PM for announcements, event updates, and game instructions.
Please coordinate with your cart partner to determine who will be responsible for entering scores into Golf Genius and recording scores on the league scorecard to ensure accurate scores and verification at the conclusion of play. A Training Video for Golf Genius can be found on the website under "MORE" tab.

Ready Golf means playing when you are ready, rather than always waiting for the player who is farthest from the hole. It helps keep the round moving and improves the pace of play for everyone.
Examples of Ready Golf include:
Remember: Always put safety first. If another player is in your line of play or within range, wait until it is safe before hitting.
By practicing Ready Golf, everyone enjoys a smoother, faster, and more enjoyable round.
Guests may be invited to participate in our Member/Guest event, subject to availability and event guidelines.
Individual Play
Each player plays her own ball for the entire 9-hole round. Winners are determined by the lowest net scores.
Stableford
Players earn points based on their net score on each hole:
The player with the highest total number of points at the end of the round is the winner.
Step-Aside Scramble
All four players tee off, and the best shot is selected. The player whose shot is chosen steps aside and does not hit the next shot. The remaining three players play from the location of the selected ball. The best shot is selected again, and that player steps aside for the following shot. Continue this format until the hole is completed.
2-Person Scramble
Both players tee off, and the best shot is selected. Both players then play their next shot from that location. Continue selecting the best shot and playing from that location until the hole is completed.
For Classy Niners tournaments, one player's drive may be used a maximum of six times during the 9-hole round.
Proper golf attire is required during all Classy Niners golf events and tournaments and must comply with The Classics Country Club dress code.
Acceptable golf attire includes:

Members are encouraged to follow the club's dress code at all times while on the golf course and practice facilities. For complete attire guidelines, please refer to The Classics Country Club Dress Code or contact the Golf Shop.

After Wednesday play you are to report any birdies or chip-ins.
Submissions must be made in writing and received during the same week the achievement.
Please email Lynne Sergi at:
Lynne will confirm receipt of your email. If you do not receive confirmation, please follow up with her directly to ensure your achievement has been recorded. It is each member’s responsibility to report their birdies and chip-ins.
We strive to give every Classy Niners member the opportunity to participate in invitationals throughout the season. Because some events have limited space, participation may vary depending on the number of available spots and member interest.
Our goal is to provide as many members as possible with the chance to represent the Classy Niners and enjoy playing at other clubs.
If an invitational fills quickly, priority may be given to members who have not yet had the opportunity to participate in a previous event.
For information about invitationals or to register for an event, please contact:

All event winnings are automatically credited to your Pro Shop account.
To view your current balance, check your Member Account Statement and look for the Credit Book Balance. This balance reflects your available Pro Shop credits.
Please Note: All Pro Shop credits expire on May 31 of each year and do not carry over to the next season.
Members may participate in the Birdie & Chip-In Program by signing up and paying the annual $25.00 participation fee during membership renewal.
Yes. Tournament winners are traditionally invited to help plan and organize the following year's event as part of the Event Leadership Team.
This tradition allows winners to share ideas, help coordinate the event, and contribute to making the tournament enjoyable for all participants.
Following weekly play, members gather in The Classics Country Club dining room for announcements, event results, awards, prize presentations, and an opportunity to socialize with fellow Classy Niners.
It's a great time to celebrate accomplishments, stay informed about upcoming events, and enjoy the friendships that make the Classy Niners such a special group.
On Classy Niners league days: Enter your score in Golf Genius. The Pro Shop will post the score to GHIN for you. Do not post it again.
On non-league days: Keep your score on a scorecard or use a scoring app, including the GHIN app. After your round, you are responsible for posting your score to GHIN.
ForeTees is used only to register for play. Scores are not entered in ForeTees.
Need help? Training videos for both ForeTees and GHIN are available on the website under the "More" tab.
Post your gross score—the number of strokes you actually took on each hole.
Quick Tip: Handicap dots help determine your maximum score on a hole, but they are not subtracted from the score you post.
No. Always enter your actual gross score—the total number of strokes you took on each hole. Do not adjust your score based on the handicap dots or subtract any handicap strokes.
To help maintain the pace of play, our league uses a maximum score for each hole. Your maximum is based on the hole’s par and the handicap strokes—or dots—you receive on that hole.
For weekly Classy Niners play, we use your Course Handicap, which is limited to a maximum of 36. Even if your Handicap Index or calculated Course Handicap is higher, you will play to a 36 Course Handicap. Therefore, the maximum anyone will receive is 2 handicap strokes (2 dots) per hole.
Maximum Score = Par + 2 (Double Bogey) + Handicap Strokes (Dots)
Example: You are playing a Par 4 and receive 2 handicap strokes (2 dots):
4 + 2 + 2 = 8
Your maximum score for that hole is 8.
Count every stroke until you hole out or reach your maximum. Once you reach your maximum, pick up your ball, record the maximum score for that hole, and move on to the next hole.
Important: Never enter an “X” in GHIN. Always enter your actual score or your maximum allowed score for the hole.
Players are encouraged to dress up for golf-themed events to help create fun memories and great photo opportunities!
No. For regular weekly play, the Pro Shop assigns all pairings and tee times. This gives members the opportunity to play with different golfers throughout the season and helps ensure fair and balanced pairings.
For certain special events or tournaments, members may be allowed to choose their playing partners if specified in the event details.
